Small progress on Orca Bay, very small

Well no great pictures to post but I have started.  Have a grand total of two black and white quarter square triangles done.  Only 220 more to go!  This should go fast.  Hope I can get enough for a block or so done by Friday.

Jack isn't feeling well today.  He is getting another cold or didn't get over the last one is more like it.

Well best fire up the rotary cutter and get cutting.  Can't sew until I cut a few.

Orca Bay Mystery

Well I'm just now (over the weekend) pulling black and neutral fabrics to get started on Bonnie Hunter's lastest. I have several 1-1/2 in strips so I can use those. Still trying to add the Orca Bay logo.

Long time no blogging

Well I'm here. What have I been doing? Regaining good health, quilting, doing a little genealogy. But here is the great news: Bonnie Hunter has started a new mystery and I am up to the challenge. I finished the 09 mystery but not the 2010 one. Had knee replacement surgery instead. I would recommend doing the mystery instead but I didn't listen to my own advice.

We are in pretty good condition for the condition we are in and are planning a trip soon. I'm hoping to get a good start on this mystery first. Got some Christmas gifts made so I should be able to have a little time.

Love the title Orca Bay. I have always loved whales and the Orca in particular. Hope to get Bonnie's button to post here. So far no luck. Will keep trying.

Sewing at last

Jack is getting better and has been given the green light to resume all activity he wants. My spider bite has gone without lasting results as far as we can see. I have an appointment to have the doctor inject my knees again as the stairs are becoming a challenage again.

We have had beautiful weather albeit windy and I have been able to do a little piecing on my Little B machine. Finished the blocks for a "Fun and Done" star quilt and now have to put them together. Also prepared some large blocks for buttonhole applique. The pattern is Irish Rose from 100 Applique Quilt Patterns by Jan Halgrimson. A very useful book for patterns for applique.

I know we will soon be fishing and I can work on the buttonhole applique and also on my Grandmothers Flower Garden Hexie quilt. So at least I have stuff ready to go when we go. I keep a sewing machine in the motorhome but when out in the boat only hand work will do.

Out of sorts here

Have spent over a month getting over a cold that lasted the entire month of February. Then I got a Hobo spider bite and had to keep my leg up for a couple of weeks so I haven't been able to sew or compute. I'm itching to get to both.

Now my best friend and life partner has had a small stroke. No paralysis but a headache and restricted activity for him. It was brought on by Plavix and aspirin so neither of those for him. Well we are in pretty good shape for the shape we are in and we will continue to live as full of life as we can.

Will be getting down to the sewing machine soon!!! Things always look better when viewed through the eye of a needle.

Progress on Bonnies Mystery

I've been enjoying "Little B" to sew patches for Bonnie's NYE mystery. I love her choice of colors and followed them. (Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery). I've looked ahead by now as I was seeing it all over the net. My fault I'm slow getting things done.
